TBOX Chicago: A Holiday Bar Crawl in Wrigleyville
TBOX Chicago—short for “The Twelve Bars of Xmas”—is a festive bar crawl that brings holiday spirit to Wrigleyville. The annual event invites participants to dress up, meet friends, and visit participating bars and venues in one of Chicago’s best-known nightlife districts.
A Chicago Holiday Tradition
For many attendees, TBOX is as much about the atmosphere as the bar crawl itself. Groups arrive in holiday sweaters, Santa suits, reindeer antlers, and other seasonal costumes, turning the neighborhood into a lively celebration. The event has become a recognizable part of Chicago’s holiday season for locals and visitors looking for a social way to mark the occasion.
What to Expect
TBOX typically centers on participating venues in and around Wrigleyville. Depending on the year, admission may include an event wristband or other benefits at designated locations. The lineup, schedule, ticket details, and entry rules can change, so check the event’s official channels before making plans.
Because the crawl takes place in a busy nightlife area, it’s a good idea to plan transportation ahead of time. Consider using public transit or arranging a sober ride, stay with your group, and pace yourself throughout the day. Attendees should also review venue policies and bring valid identification.
Plan Ahead
TBOX can draw large crowds, especially around popular venues. Comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a meeting point for your group can make the experience easier. If you’re visiting from outside Chicago, look into nearby lodging and transit options well in advance.
Whether you’re a longtime attendee or curious about the event for the first time, TBOX offers a distinctly Chicago way to celebrate the holidays: festive costumes, neighborhood nightlife, and a day out with friends in Wrigleyville.
